Gone are the days of collecting crumpled business cards or trying to read handwritten email addresses. At Expo Torrevieja, we have streamlined B2B networking with our proprietary Lead Capture Terminal.

When visitors arrive at the Expo, they are issued a secure, digital QR Code Pass containing their professional profile. As an Exhibitor, your smartphone or tablet is now a powerful lead-generation tool. Simply scan a visitor’s badge to instantly save their verified contact information directly to your secure dashboard.

2. What You Need

You do not need to purchase any special hardware or download software from the App Store.

  • A Smart Device: Any modern smartphone or tablet (iPhone, iPad, Android) with a working camera.
  • A Web Browser: Safari (for Apple) or Google Chrome (for Android).
  • Internet Connection: The Auditorium's WiFi or your mobile 4G/5G data.
  • Your Welcome Email: The email containing your secure Magic Link.

3. Step-by-Step Instructions

1 Open Your Portal

Open your email app on your smartphone and locate your Exhibitor Welcome email.

Tap the "Access My Exhibitor Portal" button. This is a secure "Magic Link" that automatically logs you into your dashboard on events.theleader.info—no passwords required!

2 Launch the Scanner

Once your portal loads, tap the large button labeled "Lead Capture Terminal".

CRITICAL STEP: Your phone will display a pop-up asking for permission to use your camera. You MUST tap "Allow".

3 Scan a Visitor's Pass

When you engage with a visitor, politely ask: "May I scan your badge to send you our information?"

Point your camera at their digital QR code or printed pass. Keep the code centered.

Success: The scanner will beep and flash green, displaying a "Lead Captured!" message along with their name and company.

4 View Your Live Leads

You don't need to scan blindly! Scroll down slightly below the camera viewer.

You will see a live, updating list of every person you have scanned that day, sorted by the most recent scan.

5 Export Your Data

When the Expo is over, it's time to follow up. Open your Exhibitor Portal (via the Magic Link) on a desktop computer.

Click the "Export Leads" button. Your browser will download an Excel spreadsheet containing the names, emails, phones, and sectors of everyone you scanned.

4. Best Practices & Pro-Tips

Charge Your Device

Keep your smartphone battery topped up. Bring a portable power bank or your charging cable to the stand.

Screen Brightness

If a visitor's QR code isn't scanning, their screen might be too dark. Politely ask them to turn up their brightness.

Save to Home Screen

For quick access, open your Magic Link, tap your browser's "Share" menu, and select "Add to Home Screen" to create an app icon!

Test It Out

When you arrive to set up your stand, have a colleague open their digital pass and practice scanning each other.

5. Troubleshooting & FAQ

The screen is black and the camera isn't turning on.
You likely accidentally denied camera permissions. On iPhone/Safari: Tap the "AA" icon in the address bar, tap "Website Settings," and allow Camera. On Android/Chrome: Tap the padlock icon next to the URL, tap "Permissions," and allow Camera. Refresh the page.
I can't find my Magic Link email!
Check your spam/junk folder. If you still cannot find it, please visit the Organiser's Help Desk, and we will instantly email you a fresh link.
What if the WiFi drops out?
The scanner requires an internet connection to securely sync the lead to your dashboard. Switch your phone to 4G/5G mobile data.
Can multiple staff members scan leads at the same time?
Yes! Simply forward your Exhibitor Welcome email to your staff members. They can click the Magic Link on their own phones. All leads will pool together into your master spreadsheet.
I scanned the same person twice by accident. Will they show up twice?
No. Our system is smart enough to recognize duplicate QR codes and will only save the lead to your list once.
